Abstract Implementing innovation as the basis of learning management is the process of emphasizing self-taught practices among nursing students. This emphasis is to develop their learning potential. According to the purposes of this qualitative research, it aimed at studying the relevant factors, the processes, and the outcomes of learning management derived from the implementation of innovative-based learning among nursing students. To the participants of this study, the sixteen key informants included the third-year and fourth-year nursing students completing previous nursing subjects, nursing research methodologies, and innovative-based learning. The data were collected from a focus group discussion, voice recording, and observation forms. Further, the collected data were qualitatively analyzed based on the content analysis so as to receive the crucial synopsis. The content validity and reliability were examined by using the investigator triangulation and data source triangulation methods.
According to the results, the study revealed the following issues: 1) the four factors related to innovative learning included: (1) the role of advisor, (2) basic knowledge, (3) information sources, and (4) teamwork. 2) The implementation of innovation as a basis of the learning process was achieved through the six main steps, including: (1) discovering problems, (2) analyzing information, (3) selecting the innovation, (4) designing the learning innovation, (5) experimenting a pilot project of learning innovation and (6)implementing the learning innovation.3)The learning outcomes were innovative products. To the future implication of this study, the results can be applied as a means of allocating supportive materials among educational institutions and of designing extra-curricular activities for the improvement of learning processes via innovation. Moreover, this study can considerably pave the way for determining the roles of advisors which help increase students’ potentials toward the desired characteristics of graduates and the forthcoming possession of innovative skills.
